Beat the Exam

How To Beat The Exam

Fresh Viewport User Inside

(A) Chain of business with no particular address/location

Query: Walmart

Nearest to the User = Excellent

Demoted by 1 = Good

Demoted by 2= Acceptable

Demoted by 3 (Outside the Viewport)= Bad

Exemption

But if the location is near the User even if it is outside the viewport it will be considered as Relevance = Excellent.

See image below: Starbucks(5)

(B) Chain of business with a particular address/location

Query: Aldi Walco Texas

Since it has a particular location/address Relevance = Navigational

Take note that the location will be now the point of origin. All viewports will be disregarded wheather it is Fresh or Stale even the User location will be disregarded.

The next nearest to that location will be Good, next is Acceptable and so on.

Take note that this rule only applies to a single particular location

See Image Below:

(C) Chain of business with a particular address/location. More than 1 result Relevance = Excellent
Why excellent? As mentioned before Navigational only applied to a single outlet or result if more than 1 then relevance is demoted to excellent.

There are 2 Starbucks results given to a particular location which is San Francisco

See Image Below:

(D) Particular address that don't exist
To verify if an address is deliverable go to
https://tools.usps.com

Look for the DPV result
Y = address exist
N = address doesn't exist

For example, if you enter 610 Maryland Street and the address doesn't exist but 609 or 611 does exist, use it as a replacement for that said address.
Instead of  Relevance = Navigational, it will be demoted now to Excellent.
Use Googe Earth now to verify the Pin accuracy
The name under addresses will always be N/A

(E) Business Permanently Closed
The nearest to the User will be Excellent. Always treat a business that is permanently closed as if it exists.
The next closest to the User will also be Excellent since it exists/is open in the real world.

See Image Below:

(F) The User location becomes the point of interest.

Query: Restaurant near me, Hotel nearby
With this type of query, the User's location will be the point of interest. This will disregard all viewports whether it is Fresh or Stale. The nearest to the User will be Excellent (business chain).

(G) The user is outside the fresh viewport and no result inside the viewport.

There is only 1 result outside the viewport. Relevance = Navigational
There is 2 or more results outside the viewport. Nearest to the user will be Excellent and others will be demoted to 1 or 2 depending on the distance to the user.

(H) Non-Specific Address

Query: 154 Orchard St
The query does not specify in which locality the address is expected. Use the location intent given by the user and viewport to rate the results.

1. Navigatonal
The result is in Lower Manhattan, very close to the user location.
2. Good
The result is farther away from the viewport, but still matches the query.
3. Good
The result is farther away from the viewport, but still matches the query.
4. Bad
The result is in a different state and very far away from the user’s viewport. The street type does also not match the query.
